Next week I’ll be taking care of her as she heals from a total knee replacement surgery. Needless to say, yoga was not something attainable for her in the past. I decided to step out of my yoga box and try a class I’d never even considered taking before… Chair Yoga. I won’t lie… I thought it was pretty awesome. I found it to be incredibly relaxing and a nice break from my traditional vinyasa practice. Imagine a Restorative class, but while seated in a chair rather than the floor. Everitt was totally rad and has an incredible gift for playing music. He played with singing bowls, wind chimes, and a gong… SO LOVELY! Everritt is an awesome teacher with a deep soothing voice that made it easy to relax. Beautiful natural light from the walls of windows, and the cutest clothes, yoga supplies, jewelry, and goodies to purchase in the front of the studio. I wanted one of everything!

LESSON LEARNED:

It’s so easy to forget how to slow down, when to take breaks, and how to nourish our bodies the way they need to be. If we spend our whole lives working, rushing, and trying to get to this so called ‘ideal destination’, we miss the journey getting there. And the journey is what counts; it’s the fun part, the adventure. It’s where the best stories are born. Day by day I am learning to live with endless gratitude for every moment. I’m practicing patience and acceptance. I’m awakening and I am surrendering. #yogalove
