About the Project
Optimism (2017)
This 8’x8′ mural was live during the annual Wanderlust Festival in Stratton, VT. The moth is an optimistic and alluring creature representing the secret knowledge we hold within ourselves. The moth is an emblem of capturing our own light, even in the depth of darkness. This mural is a reminder to look inward, to transform doubt into confidence, and to pursue a fulfilled, positive life while here on this planet. Within this mural I captured and illuminated these qualities by creating a sense of movement and flow with the paint.
The Wanderlust Festival is known for its collaboration with some of the world’s most esteemed yoga instructors, inspirational speakers, performance artists and musicians. It’s a public platform for self study, deepening human connection, and transformation. I’m honored and privileged to have been invited to be the Resident Artist for 2017, creating three unique art pieces on-site in Lake Tahoe, CA; Stratton, VT; and Snowshoe, WV.
