About the Project

Original photography by La Barbecue owner, LeAnn Mueller, was used in conjunction with spray paint, oil pastel and gold leaf embellishments. This was a dream project to work on. Complete creative freedom was given on this project and a bathroom is such a unique place to create an art installation and mural.

This project took weeks to organize, assemble, and install. It was labor intensive but such is any immersive art installation. There’s a color changing light that adds an interactive component into the artwork and there’s always dirty hip hop music blasting through the house speakers. It’s not what you’d expect when stepping into the bathroom at La Barbecue, but that’s what makes it so special. I live for a project that has an element of surprise!
