DAY 9 OF 30
- Name of Studio: Yoga Con Amor
- Style of Class: Vinyasa
- Instructor: Eliz Perez
Yoga Con Amor is nestled in The Spectrum Shopping Center on Burnet Rd. and is known for offering classes designed for all ages, body types, and experience levels. Truly a yoga studio for Everyone.
The studio is charming and I couldn’t help but notice the “intention board” on the studio walls where students write and share their intentions. Every yogi needs to be encouraged to share and manifest their goals.
LESSON LEARNED:
“Relax and receive” — Eliz
ABOUT THE STUDIO:
- Vision: “Our mission at Yoga Con Amor, is to provide a safe space where people can connect with their breath, get out of their heads, relax and feel good. We believe that Yoga should be accessible and affordable for anyone interested in trying it no matter age, shape, or physical condition. We offer a variety of classes, from beginner, to level 2-3 for more seasoned practitioners. Always wanted to take a bar class but couldn’t afford it? Try the yoga con bar class. Its a ballet yoga fusion sequence that will put a smile on your face and a lift in your buns”

Eliz: I came up with name “Yoga Con Amor” for the studio, based on the intention we put out to our students. Approachable, lovingly guided classes that Everyone feels comfortable attending.
Eliz: I run the studio on my own. My mom helps me with front desk work every once in a while in the evenings, so that I can be there for my two boys. But she is there to help me. I am the one running the entire operation.
Eliz:
Yoga Con Amor is for everyone. Every person no matter age, shape or physical ability, we have a class for you. I don’t think a studio like that in Austin is easy to come by. Yoga by nature grows community, as the meaning is to yolk or unite. But most studios around town cater to younger and very athletic students. Which is great, but there are a lot of people who are intimidated by this, who would love to try yoga. We cater to them all.
Eliz: There a lot of wonderful things about owning my own yoga studio. But the best part for me, is being able to keep 100% true to my intentions as a yoga teacher. To not have to compromise the way I want to share yoga with the world.
Eliz:
as a yoga teacher while I’m teaching, it’s not about me. It’s about the service I provide to my students. To cater to their needs and try to attune myself to what best helps them. It’s selfless.
